Setting foot in Norway

Hei hei alle sammen. Jeg heter Julia og jeg kommer fra Tyskland. I’ll live here in Norway for one year.

Monday was my first day of school and on Thursday we went on a hiking trip in the mountains to get to know each other better. It was really fun. We haven’t got any mountains in the region of Germany where I live. So I was really excited to go hiking in the mountains. That was one of many reasons why I wanted to come to Norway. The weather was great. The sun was shining and it was warm. Hiking was sometimes very hard, but the views were amazing. So I forgot all the bad things and was just happy, that I can be here. I saw things that I have never seen before.

We were at a cabin after two hours and made a long break there. We talked a lot, ate our matpakke and just had a good time. It was the first time that I was in a cabin and I liked it. I’ll go with my host family to their cabin next weekend. I’m so excited! After this we went to a lake and other awesome places. We talked about everything while we hiked. I learned a lot about the Norwegian culture and the life in Norway. I’m so happy that the people here are so nice. I got home after seven hours and I was really tired, but it was a good experience and I would go hiking in the mountains again and again and again…

And now I just want to say thank you to all who are making this possible. I’m sure, that the year will be one of the best years in my life. And I wouldn’t be here without you.
